Description

Indigo Lake pigment paint is a spectacular blue watercolour made with ethically sourced Indigo. Indigo is extracted from Indigofera tinctoria native to India and Asia and has been used as a natural pigment for 6000 years.

Indigo has been used in Mayan art and mixed in oil painting since the 16th century. This indigo watercolour is supplied in a handcrafted clay pot. All of these pigments are handmade, and the colours will vary in different batches.

The clay pots are all handmade and vary in shape they are very happy with normal use for watercolour painting but are not fired clay and will be unhappy if fully immersed in water.
